"I am delighted to welcome you to the Highlands & Islands Strategic Co-ordinating Group (HISCG) Website. HISCG was formed in 1998 and has developed in line with the requirements of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and is based on the geographic coverage of the Police force area.
Your local Strategic Co-ordinating Group website offers information and advice about actions to take to ensure the residents, visitors and businesses throughout the Highlands and Islands of Scotland are prepared, either before, during or after an incident or major emergency. The site also includes links to government and non-government advice sources for a wide variety of emergencies.
The site includes a Community Risk Register that summarises the main risks within the Highlands & Islands and is available here so that you may browse the site and learn more about the systems and processes in place to mitigate against a major emergency occuring.
Ultimately the aim of HISCG is to ensure multi-agency co-operation in both the planning for and the response to a major emergency. HISCG will provide sound strategic guidance and leadership when necessary.
